Summary: Lorraine Benson Adams will conduct professional development workshops for Blessed Sacrament School employees on Social Development, Self Control and Practical Behavior Strategies.

Lorraine Benson Adams, MEd, is the owner of Breakthrough Learning Solutions in Atlanta, Georgia and Anniston, Alabama. With over 35 years as a special education teacher, early intervention specialist, and educational intervention specialist, Lori has helped hundreds of families and thousands of educational professionals understand and address the needs of struggling and unusual learners. Lori travels extensively throughout the US, providing support to public and private school districts, and is a primary faculty member with Sensational Brain. She received her BS from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) in Special Education, k-12, and MEd from Auburn University (Auburn, AL) in Early Childhood Special Education and Low-Incidence Disabilities.

Lorraine Benson Adams will present virtual workshops on November 5 and November 10.

Resolution: WHEREAS, Blessed Sacrament School would like to provide training to employees on social development, self control, and practical behavior strategies; and

WHEREAS, the training will align with Common Core State Standards and Blessed Sacrament professional development plan to help all teachers improve student achievement in core content areas; and

WHEREAS, Lorraine Benson Adams, M.Ed. is qualified to provide such training and has agreed to provide such training at a cost of $1,800; and

WHEREAS, Lorraine Benson Adams services are completely reimbursable through the Title II grant;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education approves the retention of consultant Lorraine Benson Adams, M.Ed., per the terms identified above and directs the Superintendent to execute the necessary documents on behalf of the Board.
