Resolution: WHEREAS, Springfield Public School District 186 desires consultant services for the Empower All Abilities Conference in 2019 to provide professional development focused specifically on students with disabilities, in addition, one-day student symposiums centered on resilience and perseverance; and

WHEREAS, Shawn Anthony Robinson, Ph.D., Senior Research Associate in the Wisconsin’s Equity and Inclusion Laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an author, and dyslexia consultant, is qualified to provide such services as a Consultant for the District; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Robinson has indicated his willingness and desire to provide professional development at the Empower All Abilities Conference on February 23, 2019 and student symposiums on February 22, 2019; and

WHEREAS, the cost for these services is $3,500 plus lodging and will be paid by IDEA Part B Flow-Through Federal Grant;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education approves the retention of consultant Dr. Shawn Anthony Robinson per the terms identified above.

FURTHERMORE the Board directs the Superintendent to execute the necessary documents on behalf of the Board of Education
